Rail engineering mainly refers to the production of safety components. The development, production and logistics of the delivered elements must meet the strict safety and quality standards of rail engineering because the failure and/or malfunction of a module can endanger the safety of people.

Commercial vehicle and railway technology

We manufacture high-stress safety components specifically for the commercial vehicle and railway technology sectors in single, small and medium batch production runs. Our products can be machined ready-to-install and we can supply them in accordance with our customers’ individual specifications. Our products include axle bearing housings, housings, brake discs, ribbed base plates, covers, shields and gear unit housings.We produce castings for the railway and commercial vehicle industries in grey cast iron, spheroidal graphite cast iron and cast steel. Our expertise in production processes and our many years of experience working with the commercial vehicle and railway technology sector guarantee the implementation and maintenance of high quality standards. We are an accredited Q1 supplier and have also earned HPQ certification from the German national railway company Deutsche Bahn.

We produce highly stressed safety components in single batch, small batch and medium batch series specifically for utility vehicle and rail engineering. Our products are machined ready to fit and delivered to the customer according to individual customer requests. For example, this includes axle bearing housings, enclosure bodies, brake discs, covers, ribbed base plates, bearing shields or gearbox housings. The casting parts for utility vehicle and rail engineering are products from the materials grey cast iron, spheroidal graphite iron and cast steel. Our production knowledge and longstanding experience in the area of utility vehicle and rail engineering guarantees the implementation and controlling of the highest quality standards. In addition to the approval as a Q1-supplier we also have the HPQ certificates from Deutsche Bahn. The safety-relevant components of the modules for rail engineering call for the use of the latest process technologies of quality management even during the development phase. Therefore, risk analyses such as fault trees and FMEAs are created in the team prior to the construction of the components. Similarly, our trained employees produce an initial sample test report for the first delivery parts and it documents the compliance of all necessary drawing specifications.

The delivery quality of the axle bearing housing in rail engineering is extremely important. The safety component is to protect the main part of the axle bearing from contamination and the guarantee the safe function of the lubrication device. We manufacture axle bearing housings for rail vehicles in different designs for passenger carriages and freight trains of renowned train manufacturers. Our axle box bearing houses are produced for use in low temperature ranges (EN-GJS-400-18LT for temperatures up to -50°C).

The covers for rail vehicles in the area of rail engineering are used by renowned train manufacturers. We produce unfinished casting parts in various designs for passenger carriages and freight wagons at the manufacturing facility in Košice.

Brake discs – safety component in rail engineering

The brake discs for rail vehicles must bring large moving masses to a stop in defined distances. Our wheel brake discs and shaft brake discs meet of all of the demands placed on them. The highly stressed safety components are produced in single batch, small batch and medium batch series. We produce shaft brake discs and wheel brake discs either divided or undivided.

Ribbed base plates for rail engineering

Even when it comes to fastening the rails with rail sleepers, we still provide our buyers with high-quality items. Ribbed base plates and slide chair base plates are manufactured in different designs for wooden sleepers and concrete sleepers.
